CHANNEL ISLANDS CRUISE - Sunday, July 7, Oxnard, CA, $95

Since 1968, Island Packer Cruises have been cruising California’s Channel Islands.  This 3-hour cruise will take you through the waters of the Santa Barbara Channel, Channel Islands National Marine Sanctuary and the Channel Islands National Park.  This area of the ocean is known to have more marine mammals in its waters than any other area on the planet.  We will also cruise the rugged shoreline of Anacapa Island where you might see seals, sea lions, whales and dolphins! We will be stopping for an on-your-own lunch at The Collection at Riverpark.

Pack your bags, throw on your shades and escape the summer heat!  We’ll arrive around noon in America’s Riviera… Santa Barbara.  That afternoon, you will be on your own to shop, dine or hit the beach in one of the most beautiful places in the world. Later, we will check into the Svendsgaard in Solvang. On day two, breakfast will be provided and you will be able to explore the old world, Danish architecture of Solvang, treat yourself to Danish bakeries, and boutique shopping.  A buffet dinner is included at Chumash Casino. After dinner, we will attend an evening show of Million Dollar Quartet at the Festival Theatre. The Tony Award winner, is set in 1956, when an extraordinary twist of fate brought young Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Johnny Cash, and Carl Perkins together at Sun Records in Memphis. On day three, breakfast again will be provided and we will head home. On the return, we’ll stop in historic downtown Ventura. Mt. WILSON OBSERVATORY and DESCANSO GARDENS - Wednesday, July 17, $76

Located high above the Los Angeles basin, the Mt. Wilson Observatory in La Canada offers the best astronomical viewing in America. The observatory contains two historically important telescopes: the Hooker telescope and the 60-inch telescope which was the largest operational telescope in the world when it was completed in 1908. We will walk the grounds and hear the history of the institution and the telescopes.  After, we make the short trek to Descanso Gardens. A 150 acre botanical garden that features a miniature railroad, house museum, redwoods and streams. Lunch on-your-own at Descanso Gardens.

Silver Lining Travel reserves the right to cancel an event due to low enrollment or other circumstances which would make the event non-viable. If Silver Lining Travel cancels an event, registrants will be offered a full refund. Should circumstances arise that result in the postponement of an event, Silver Lining Travel has the right to either issue a full refund or transfer funds to the same event at the new future date. Persons wishing to cancel their reservation 45 calendar days prior to an event will not receive a refund. Any cancellations made prior to the 45 calendar date are subject to a $10 cancellation fee.
